Whether you’re taking your first steps on the iron path or seeking a thrilling challenge, the rugged landscapes and panoramic views will leave you inspired.  After the climb, unwind with an educational wine tasting lunch led by a dedicated sommelier. Savor the finest local wines paired with regional delicacies, while learning about Irpinia’s rich viticultural heritage. This unique experience combines outdoor adventure with the refined pleasures of wine culture, offering the perfect balance of excitement and relaxation.  Also, as of November 2024, all tastings will be supported by the Exclusive Master Wine Aroma Kit Experience, enabling guests to experience white and red wine aromas and wine faults, hence completing a world-unique exclusive.

After reaching Volturara by private trnsfer, you will be briefed by our climbing and Via Ferrata professional.  Via Ferrata adventure in Volturara Irpina, set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Picentini Mountains and the Piana del Dragone. This route combines the thrill of vertical climbing with the safety of fixed cables, ladders, and iron rungs, makes it accessible to climbers of all levels. Before beginning, lthere will be an activity briefing, tailored to novice, intermediate, and advanced sportsmen.

Novice Climbers – First Steps

  • Briefing Focus: Safety and confidence.
  • Procedures: Introduction to equipment: harness, helmet, gloves, and lanyards with carabiners – Demonstration of clipping/unclipping to the safety cable. – Practice on easy, low-angle sections to build trust in the system.
  • Goal: Learn to move steadily, respect safety rules, and enjoy the first vertical experience without pressure.

Intermediate Climbers – Refining Technique

  • Briefing Focus: Efficiency and endurance.
  • Procedures: Review of equipment plus advanced knot and belay techniques – Guidance on conserving energy: proper foot placement, balance, and rhythm. – Introduction to exposed traverses and steeper sections.
  • Goal: Improve climbing flow, manage fatigue, and gain confidence on more demanding terrain.

Advanced Climbers – Pushing Boundaries

  • Briefing Focus: Mastery and challenge.
  • Procedures: Technical briefing on overhangs, vertical pitches, and multi-pitch progression – Strategies for speed, precision, and mental focus on exposed ridge -Emphasis on self-reliance while respecting group safety protocols.
  • Goal: Test limits, refine advanced skills, and embrace the full thrill of Volturara’s rugged Via Ferrata environment

After an exhilarating morning of climbing and tackling the Via Ferrata routes of Volturara Irpina, it’s time to slow down, savor, and reconnect with the land through its flavors. Nestled in the heart of Irpinia, this local restaurant welcomes us to a table that celebrates the region’s identity: simple mountain produce, indigenous ingredients, and wines that have earned international acclaim.

Guiding us through this experience is a sommelier from Napoli Wine Tours, who will lead an educational tasting designed to highlight the harmony between food, wine, and territory. Each glass poured tells the story of Irpinia’s vineyards—Taurasi, Fiano di Avellino, and Greco di Tufo—while each dish showcases the authenticity of Volturara’s local products, from the celebrated Fagiolo Quarantino bean to chestnuts from the surrounding forests.
